Zovrah, the reflection-led health and behaviour-change platform, has appointed Dr Reena Kotecha as Chief Medical Advisor. Dr Reena will work alongside founder and CEO Josh Edwards to shape Zovrah's approach to evidence-informed reflection across sleep, stress and nutrition, as the company builds out its advisory bench ahead of wider consumer and corporate adoption.

Dr Reena studied medicine and undertook a research degree in neuroscience and mental health at Imperial College London, before spending the early part of her career as a hospital doctor in the NHS. She is trained in the therapeutic use of mindfulness meditation at the British Mindfulness Institute and is a certified teacher of Search Inside Yourself, the mindfulness-based emotional intelligence programme developed at the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute.

She is Program Leader for Harvard Medical School's Executive Education wellbeing course "Building a Life of Wellness: The Science of Fostering Happiness and Health Span," developed by Robert Waldinger, Director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development, and delivered via Emeritus. She is a former member of the International Advisory Board at Headspace, and in 2016 founded Mindful Medics, a wellbeing programme for healthcare staff now delivered across clinical and non-clinical settings globally. She is also a TEDx speaker and has served as a professional stakeholder for mindfulness research at the University of Cambridge.

Speaking on the appointment, Josh Edwards, Founder and CEO of Zovrah, said:

"Reena has spent her career on exactly the question Zovrah is built around — not how to diagnose people, but how to help them build the daily habits that actually change how they feel. She's lived the cost of ignoring that herself, as a doctor, and has spent the years since turning that into something rigorous and repeatable for other people. As we grow our advisory and content presence, having her judgement on what's genuinely evidence-informed versus what's just wellness noise is exactly what this platform needs."

Dr Reena said her decision to join Zovrah was rooted in its emphasis on reflection over diagnostics.

"So much of the health and wellbeing space has become an arms race of sensors and scores, and very little of it actually changes behaviour. What drew me to Zovrah is its conviction that lasting change comes from people building genuine self-awareness — noticing their own patterns, day after day — rather than being handed another number to react to. That's the same belief that's driven my work in healthcare and organisational wellbeing for over a decade, and I'm looking forward to helping Zovrah build that out responsibly as it grows."

Zovrah's platform is organised around three pillars — sleep, stress and nutrition — and built on a daily reflection loop. Users complete short structured check-ins, receive personalised guidance from Kairo, the company's in-app AI coach, and earn cash rewards for consistent engagement. The rewards mechanic, which pays users in real money rather than points or badges, is one of the more distinctive features in the consumer wellbeing category.

Dr Reena's appointment continues the build-out of Zovrah's advisory bench across brand, health and consumer strategy as the company moves toward wider consumer and corporate adoption.
